Script Notes
This is a ‘local’ play and can be packed with ‘in jokes’ that the audience would get. We used shots of landmarks – the church, the nightclub and other places. You can reference the nearest football club, get in the name of the evening paper. We found that these made the thing seem much more real. We had great fun with the costumes the men wear at the start of Act Two. We borrowed some lovely suits from the local Moss Bros in return for a mention in the programme.

Cast

Men –
Georgie (60 something) Best played with ‘local accent’
Charles (60 something) Very ‘grand’
Colin (late 50s) ‘Joe ordinary’

Women –
Maxine (25 upwards)
Gloria (any age)
Annabel (any age)

Note that the roles of Gloria and Annabel can be doubled (or even trebled with Maxine)

    Summary Performance History
I wrote this play seven years ago. It has toured extensively in the North East, playing some decent theatres – the Customs House in South Shields where it did three nights, The Queen’s Hall in Hexham, The ARC in Stockton (two nights) and the Playhouse up in Alnwick being the best known. We sold out six nights in the Little Theatre in Gateshead three years ago, doing some good business for the box office (check out http://www.littletheatregateshead.com). I would love to see it on the stage again so do please take a look at the sample on this site. Peter
